The city of Nafplio, where the headquarters of the Mediterranean Handball Confederation are situated, play host this week (February 27 – March 4) to the 16th Womens Mediterranean Handball Confederation Championship, with the participation of athletes born in 2006 and younger from hosts Greece, Croatia, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania, Spain, Tunisia and Turkiye.
Co-organisers of the event are the Hellenic Handball Federation, the Municipality of Nafplio and the Region of Peloponnese, while the event is being held under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Sports.
All matches are broadcast in live streaming via the Hellenic Handball Federation’s YouTube channel “OXE TV”.
Nafplio is one of the oldest and most historic cities in Europe and in the Mediterranean and it has been inhabited since the Mycenaean era (1,600 – 1,100 BC). Nafplio was the capital of Greece between 1823-1834 and the seat of the first Governor of Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias.
