Review of the 3rd day in Korydallos Hall

Seven matches ended today’s match of Group B of the Mediterranean in the Hall of Korydallos.
The group phase ended and came out the teams that will go to the next round (quarter-finals and those that will compete for the 9-14 positions.
Spain, with two clear wins 5-0 against Morocco and Croatia, came in first in the group with 28.5 points.
Montenegro beat Northern Macedonia and Tunisia and finished the group second with 21.5 points in 2nd place.
Tunisia with one point in the set against Montenegro was enough to put her in third place in the group.
Finally, Croatia got the last ticket for the quarter-finals with 15 points and with younger children (born in 2004).
Morocco with 10 points took fifth place and will move to the next stage and fight for positions 9-14. Northern Macedonia took the 6th position of the group with 8 points, while Turkey was 6th with 6 points.

Quotes:

Matej Miskovic (Croatian coach): “I think the game in the first set went bad as we made some technical mistakes and lost some easy goals. Then we tried to calm down and change some things in our game and chase the score all the time. When we did it, there was physical and mental fatigue. In the end I’m happy with the points and the result. ”

Sanchez-Nieves Fernandez (Spain coach): “Our first goal was to do our best in every game. I think with this system of the tournament we had to win almost every set, as the team did. It is true that our second goal was to take the lead on the group. We’re happy, but we have some time to think about tomorrow’s game as well. This is the most difficult part of the tournament”.

Tahar Zawali (Tunisia coach): “We ended our presence in the group in 3rd place facing a very good team such as Montenegro. We consume a lot of energy against Croatia and the players were not very strong in the last game. ”

Brano Bozovic (Montenegro coach): “It was important for us to win all the games except Spain. We are now in the quarter-finals and will face Romania. We have played together sometimes and we know each other. Now the good games are starting and I hope all my players will be healthy and in good shape so hopefully we can go farther in the competition. ”
