The second day of competition at the Palace of Youth and Sports delivered six Women’s Preliminary Round matches across Groups A and B, with several decisive performances and key shifts in group dynamics.
Group A
Spain 23–19 Montenegro
Spain opened the day with a controlled win over Montenegro. After a balanced first half (8:5), Spain maintained composure in the closing stages to secure a four-goal victory.
Kosovo 20–17 Bulgaria
Kosovo claimed an important result in a tightly contested match. Despite periods of Bulgarian resistance, Kosovo’s consistency across sets proved decisive.
Romania 37–21 Türkiye
Romania produced the most dominant performance of the group, overcoming an early setback to take full control. A strong mid-game surge (12:8, 8:14 across phases) created a decisive gap that Türkiye could not close.
Group B
Croatia 31–23 Italy
Croatia delivered a structured and efficient performance, building momentum through the middle stages of the match. Italy remained competitive but could not recover from Croatia’s scoring runs.
Slovenia 25–15 Greece
Slovenia recorded one of the day’s clearest victories. After an even start, Slovenia tightened defensively and extended their lead with disciplined execution.
Slovakia 29–21 North Macedonia
Slovakia closed the day with a confident win. A strong opening phase set the tone, and despite North Macedonia’s attempts to respond, Slovakia maintained control throughout.
With several convincing wins and clear statement performances, Day 2 significantly shaped the outlook in both groups heading into the next round of matches.
